So I just saw the Sweeny Todd movie...
It was hella rad. There were at least a dozen throat slits.
And it's a musical.
Anyone else see it?

The play was better, but yes, the movie was very well done. I enjoyed it.

I'm planning on seeing the movie actually, a friend of mine wants to see it too so we might go together. Seems really fun.

I saw the original Broadway musical years ago before most of the posters here were born. The music was exceptional. I was disappointed that many of the songs were left out. Overall it was a great movie rendition.
What I find funny is how many people never heard of Sweeny Todd who laughed during the movie who had no idea it was a musical to begin with.
One last thing if you have a chance read the book it explains a lot of the story not told in the musical or movie.

Entertaining movie. It was nice to see Sasha Baron Cohen in a non-Borat role; Burton is delightfully insane. Who would have thought that Depp could sing, too?

My brother about died when we sat down and I told him there was a lot of singing. Very cool movie though.

Yeah, I went with like a dozen people, about a third of them didn't know it was a musical.
